Sandals Whitehouse, European Spa & Resort

Europe might be glamorous and romantic, but it’s really expensive. The dollar is really week, so it’s not a bargain right now. Since my husband and I lost a lot of money in our 401Ks and other investments, we have been tightening our belts. I decided to try to find an alternative with a European feel. I did a little research online and found Sandals Whitehouse Resort—it’s resort with a replica of St. Marks in Venice with touches of Paris, Italy and Holland located in the Caribbean. We got a great package that was heavily discounted. All we had to pay for besides that was airfare and other incidentals. Everything was included—the drinks, food, activities and the room. It’s nice to know EXACTLY what you need to pay for.

Once we arrived, I knew I had made the right decision. It was just breathtakingly beautiful! Our room was right on the beach and had a hot tub. I strolled out onto the beach what seemed like a million times. It was just so amazing. Although they had a lot of activities to offer like windsurfing, water skiing, tennis and a fitness center, I spent most of my time by the pool or on the beach. And that was fine with my husband, because he just really need to unwind and relax—work has been so stressful these days. We did check out the glass bottom boat and played pool at night a few times. And with a whirlpool on your deck, you have to use that too!

My favorite thing about the trip was the amazing meals. Guiseppe’s was my favorite—some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. And, we’ve been to Italy. There were enough pizza and pasta dishes to eat there every night. My husband is on a low-carb diet, so we enjoyed having a steak at The Bayside. They even had a place where you could create your own desserts!

On our last day there, my husband let me splurge and get a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure and body scrub. This wasn’t included in the package. But when I told him how much the trip cost, he couldn’t say no. He was truly impressed at all we got for so little money. From now on, all our trips will be to the Sandals resorts. They are the best value for the money. I’ll have to make sure and find one that has golf courses—James missed teeing off. Thank you, Sandals, for the affordable vacation of a lifetime.
