My girlfriend, Jamie, and I haven’t been together long, less than a year. So, I wanted to make our first vacation together special. And as a real estate agent, this year has been hard for me financially. I didn’t want this to ruin our vacation, so I went for a Caribbean vacation at Sandals Montego Bay Jamaica Resort—it’s an all-inclusive package, meaning once I paid for everything I wouldn’t have to shell out more cash. This vacation included all our meals, activities, drinks and nighttime fun. I got a great deal and saved 45 percent.

The minute we arrived, I was speechless—this place was definitely paradise. We had a Luxury Oceanview Room on the 2nd floor that had a balcony and a stellar view of the beach and the ocean. I immediately forgot about work and started focusing on fun. We had Wifi/Internet access and I will admit that I checked my email and stocks a few times. |

Jamie and I both enjoy the water so we took advantage of everything Sandals had to offer—windsurfing, kayaking, sailboats, snorkeling and even Hobie Cats! We made some amazing new friends playing volleyball on the beach and partied with them at the nighclubs, live shows and casino night. And of course, we got in some late-night competitive pool—I really improved my game. There were a few nights we didn’t even leave the room and enjoyed the fully stocked bar and a little late night room service, while chilling in the plush robes the hotel provided us. Sometimes, we would slip out for a dip in the Jacuzzi or pool. |

The food was first rate and we ate at a different place every night so we could try everything! My favorite was Tokyo Joes, a Japanese joint that cooks up the most amazing stir frys. Jamie’s from London, so of course she loved The Cricketer’s Pint, a traditional English pub—she got me to try some crazy stuff like Bangers & Mash, which was actually pretty good. On our last night, we decided to have a romantic dinner of international cuisine under the stars (Jamie’s idea, of course) at the Bayside Restaurant.

The staff was super friendly and used that “no problem, mon” phrase a lot, just like on TV. The week went by so fast and I was actually sad to leave and go back to work. I have never in my life been able to say that about a vacation. I’m thinking about asking Jamie to marry me—that would be a perfect time to return to the island and pop the question and potentially for our honeymoon too. Thank you, Sandals, for an amazing vacation!
