Since, we didn’t have the time or money for a honeymoon when we got married, I decided that our anniversary should be the honeymoon that we never had. Grande Ochos is a luxury resort on the beach in Jamaica—it’s a little slice of paradise. |
| The Ocho Rios Hotel is very picturesque and romantic, situated on a hillside with the smell of Jasmine always in the air. I chose the Romeo and Juliet Honeymoon One Bedroom Suite, and I was glad I did! We had our own private Jacuzzi and pool. |  |

Jim was pleased it was an all-inclusive resort—this means that the food, drinks, water activities and nighttime entertainment are included in the price of the package, which was 60 percent off since we choose to go in the off-season of November. I was over the moon about the $250 spa credit we got, because we stayed for 7 nights—the massage overlooking the beach was to die for! |

Every meal was an adventure of the gourmet kind. With 8 restaurants and 3 bistros, the possibilities were endless. Being from Chicago, of course, I loved San Gennaro’s that features Italian food—it’s nestled on the beach and trés romantic. Jim preferred the Reef Terrace Restaurant, since he’s a fan of surf and turf. We also enjoyed all the bars that featured tropical drinks and beers from around the world. I spent most of my relaxing time on the beach, but I decided to be adventurous and try the rock climbing and scuba diving—and what an adventure that was! The only downside to the trip was I couldn’t get Jim off the golf course. This lush course is gorgeous and challenging. How do I know? Jim convinced me to play a round with him after he couldn’t stop raving about the course. And of course, this was included in our vacation package. |

We did leave the resort a few times to go into the city and check out the island. The Dunns Rivers Falls was a nice hike and quite breathtaking. And with Dolphin’s Cove, the name says it all—we got to swim and interact with dolphins. The whole trip was one of the best we’ve taken! The staff was so friendly. Oh and, we even got married again. The hotel had a package deal that we just couldn’t say no to. It was a great way to end the amazing vacation of a lifetime. Thanks, Sandals!
